Terms of Service

Last updated: June 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Qum: Tahajjud Alarm iOS application ("Qum", "the app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, you are granted a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use Qum on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except as permitted by applicable law;
  • Use the app to violate any law or third-party right;
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its content;
  • Attempt to interfere with the integrity or performance of the app, including its alarm scheduling.

3. Religious Content Disclaimer

Qum provides Islamic content such as prayer time calculations, the last third of the night, Islamic midnight, the Hijri calendar, and suhoor/Ramadan timing. This content is provided for general informational and personal-scheduling purposes. The app describes common definitions and does not issue fiqh rulings — it is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified scholar. For binding religious rulings or schedules, please consult a trustworthy local scholar or your local mosque.

4. Alarm Reliability

Qum uses Apple's AlarmKit framework so alarms can sound even when your device is on Silent, in Focus, or in Sleep mode. While we design the app to be reliable, alarm delivery ultimately depends on your device's hardware, software, settings (including Do Not Disturb exceptions, volume, and battery state), and Apple's operating system behavior, which are outside our control. Qum is a sleep aid, not a substitute for prudent precautions before time-sensitive events.

5. Purchases

Qum offers a free tier and an optional Pro unlock, available as a one-time, non-consumable purchase — Qum does not offer subscriptions. All purchases are processed by Apple and governed by the App Store's terms.

  • The Pro unlock is a single purchase that does not expire and does not renew.
  • You can restore a previous Pro purchase from within the app using the Restore Purchases option.
  • Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies.

6. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the app (including all intellectual property rights) remain the exclusive property of the developer. Religious texts and calculation methods referenced in the app remain the property of their respective rights holders, where applicable.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Prayer times, the last third of the night, and sleep-planner suggestions depend on your device's location, time zone, and chosen calculation method, and may differ slightly from your local mosque. Please verify critical timings locally.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including a missed prayer or a missed alarm — or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time if you materially violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, except where local consumer-protection laws apply to you and provide otherwise.
